We envision the Illinois Quad City region
will become an economic leader in the Midwest by
capitalizing on our entrepreneurial heritage of supporting
existing business expansion, the attraction of new companies
in industries that require cutting-edge, technical skills,
and by building on our fine quality of life to retain and
attract diverse, young talent to support a renewed economy.
In March of 2004, the Illinois Quad City Chamber of Commerce
formed a strategic economic partnership among the Chamber,
Rock Island County Board, the Workforce Development Board of
Rock Island, Henry, and Mercer Counties, and the Cities of
East Moline, Moline, Rock Island, Silvis, and Milan. The
goal was to conduct a study and develop an Economic
Positioning and Human Capital Plan that will help make the
Illinois Quad City economy competitive and sustainable. The
result - Blueprint2010: A Regional Strategy for Unified
Growth
